Gordana Icevska has covered diversity, politics and the Balkan wars as a reporter, correspondent and analyst for international media outlets, including BBC, CNN, Time Magazine and IWPR.
Icevska is an investigative reporter, producer and journalism teacher educated by Danish School of Journalism, Macedonian Institute for Media, Ryerson and York University. She worked for the first independent daily newspaper in Macedonia and co-founded and served as editor-in-chief for Kapital, the first weekly business magazine in the country. She has worked as an editor and contributor with various online media such as Transitions online and CNN.com. As an Alfred Friendly Press Fellow she also worked as a reporter for San Antonio Express News in the US.
In Canada she has written for local Toronto newspapers, has taught Covering Diversity and Critical Issues in Journalism at Ryerson School of Journalism, has been PEN lecturer in residence at George Brown College and has worked for CBC Television and Radio.
Icevska is the recipient of several awards for investigative journalism and co-author of four books.
She teaches media and journalism courses at George Brown College in Toronto.
